Miercurea Ciuc

the context

the goal

A citybranding is a key factor in urban development policy because it shapes the image we create of a city.It is crucial to understand how the residents think about their town, so I filled out a questionnaire with the city's residents to find out which places are their favourites, how they perceive the hometown now and what are the key values of it. Based on their responses I designed a logo, which refers to the floor plan of the Mikó Castle, one of the landmarks of the city but also reflects the potential to evolve and grow. From the main brand I created subbrands for cultural, sport and traditional events, each represented by a main and secondary color from the color palette. The visual identity for Miercurea-Ciuc, my hometown was the final project of my studies at the University of Arts and Design, Cluj-Napoca.

my role

As a graphic designer my role was to research and design a visual identity of the city and to create on-brand merch, editorials, webdesign, etc.
